چکیده

The first part of the paper summarizes various aspects of the prediction of concrete creep and shrinkage to be discussed in the conference lecture. They include the theories of physical mechanism, prediction models, constitutive equations, computational approaches, probabilistic aspects, and research directions. The second part then presents two new prediction models. One of them deals with the approximate prediction formulae for pore relative humidity distributions, required for realistic creep and shrinkage analysis, and the other deals with the extrapolation of short time measurements of creep and shrinkage into long times. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Estimation of Evolution of Relative Humidity Distribution for Concrete Slabs

Realistic prediction of concrete shrinkage and creep requires the calculation of the distributions of relative humidity at various times. Although the distributions of the relative humidity can be computed by numerical methods from the differential equation for diffusion, simple prediction formulas can facilitate structural analysis. The purpose of this paper is to present a simple formula for ...

OPTIMUM DESIGN OF LONG-TERM DEFLECTION IN SEGMENTED PRESTRESS BRIDGES BY CONSIDERING THE EFFECTS OF CREEP AND SHRINKAGE

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term vertical deformations of segmented pre-tensioned concrete bridges by a new approach. It provides a practical and reliable method for calculating the amount of long-term deformation based on creep and shrinkage in segmented prestress bridges. There are various relationships for estimating the creep and shrinkage of concrete. The analytical r...

A New Method for Estimation of Creep of Concrete Using Short-TermTests under Higher Temperature

In the Present study, attempt will be made to propose a new method for prediction of long-term essential creep of concrete utilizing some short-term creep tests under high temperature. To do so, regarding the similarities between essential creep of concrete and creep in viscoelastic materials, the time–temperature equivalence relation in viscoelastic materials is evaluated for concrete. This re...

RILEM TECHNICAL COMMITTEE RILEM draft recommendation: TC-242-MDC multi-decade creep and shrinkage of concrete: material model and structural analysis* Model B4 for creep, drying shrinkage and autogenous shrinkage of normal and high-strength concretes with multi-decade applicability

In response to the continuously advancing concrete technology, a new prediction model for creep and shrinkage is presented. This model, named B4, builds on the theoretically justified model B3, which is a RILEM recommendation from 1996. Improvements to the model allow for enhanced multi-decade prediction, distinguish between the drying and autogenous shrinkage, and introduce new equations and p...
